I am in fall mode! I know many are preparing for Christmas, but we just started to get cool days here in Houston so I am finally embracing the fall season. Here are a few things I have posted in my LTK app!
I just ordered this dark brown laptop cover in a croc print. There are other colors and styles available on the website as well. It was a hard decision because they were all so nice. I can't wait to post a photo when it comes in!
My yellow striped summer Stanley tumbler just isn't doing it for me lately. I've been on a hunt for one that will take me through the winter season and beyond. I think this gold one is perfect. I'm going in person to see it this weekend.
I stumbled upon an affordable brand that makes 18 carat gold plated jewelry recently. You can see me wearing it in the photos below. I bought earrings and a bracelet so far from this brand. I need to browse the website for more!
My Delina perfume isn't new, but I get asked about it at least once a week. It's too good not to share if you're looking for a new fragrance.
I am not an athletic shoe girl unless I am working at out. However, these burgundy Adidas caught my eye this year. I wasn't sure I would have anything to wear with it, but it looks good with so many complementary colors. I even wore them with a pink sweatshirt the other day.
And finally, my new brown suede handbag from Coach! I don't think I've been in a Coach store since 2002, but I've heard so many people say how amazing their bags are when the Brooklyn bag went viral last year. I went to go check it out a few weeks ago, and ended loving this baguette style bag instead. My favorite part is that the handles are long enough to comfortably fit over bulky coats in the winter when wearing it as a shoulder bag.
In case you were wondering why I haven't been posting the past year, it's because I have been working a full-time job in medical sales. It might come as a surprise to many people since I've been doing design so long. Once my youngest kids were able to drive, I started to get antsy since they didn't need me to chauffeur them around any longer. My bachelor's degree is in nursing, but I had no desire to work as a bedside RN. I love that I'm able to get out and meet people every day and still use my nursing degree. It's been busy since starting a new job last year, and I still have two design clients. I don't know if I will go back to design full-time in the future. I just knew that I was ready for a change last year when I couldn't stand the sight of another wallpaper or paint sample. So far, I really like my new job! I am so ready though to start sharing my life again here now that things have settled into a routine. I started to get weirdly private because I wasn't ready to share the news with anyone except my immediate friends and family. My identity was really tied up in being a designer. I didn't plan that at all. It just evolved that way over time. I'm over that now!
One of the benefits of working in medical sales is that I get to dress up everyday. I feel a bit guilty because I have been buying clothes like an influencer preparing to show a haul. Aritzia has become my new guilty pleasure, which is why most of my clothes are from there in these photos. I do try to buy tops that I can wear with jeans on the weekend so my wardrobe size doesn't get out of control. Plus, it feels more like me while still being work appropriate.
This top and pants are from Aritizia. I have these pants in four colors now! I like them because I can wash and dry them, plus they look nice while being comfortable. Many people complain that they are polyester. Personally, I like that about them. There's no way I'm going to be dry cleaning them every week!
Here is a closer look at the top. It is slightly sheer. I linked the Amazon cami I bought to go under it. The color is a perfect match, but the cami is slightly small. I wish I had went up one size from XS to S. The brown shirt is true to size, and I'm wearing a XS. The pants are slightly big. I'm wearing a 2 short and a 0 short would have been better. For reference, I'm 5'4 and the short length is perfect for me, with or without heels. You can also see my new gold bracelet. I'm wearing the matching gold earrings here as well.
Here is another color of the same pants. I told you I love these pants! These burgundy slingbacks are perfect for the fall season. FYI, all of my shoes are low heeled or loafers because of the amount of walking I do every day.
This black vest looks great for work, but it also works nicely with jeans. I plan to wear it with a jacket on chilly mornings. I probably should have went with black heels here, but I was just really excited to wear my new burgundy shoes. I think a burgundy bag would have been the better pop of color. Maybe that needs to go on my Christmas list.
Of course, I have to show you my living room for fall before Christmas takes over! I haven't worked on linking my new rug and pillows yet, but I will soon when I take more photos.
It's the last day of August! The kids are settled in school and it's time to start thinking about fall. It doesn't get cool here for a while, but it takes time to acquire fall decor and clothes. Plus, by the time Halloween actually rolls around you can only find Christmas decor in stores! It has taken me years to realize I need to buy early. Here are some of the things I bought, and others that caught my eye as I've been shopping the past couple of weeks.
If you love blue and white decor it can be a little difficult to decorate with traditional fall color. Thankfully, there are so many more options available now. Is anyone else loving these wreath sashes? I have my eye on Christmas ones as well.
SHOP
I have to admit I'm not a fan of most faux wreaths. However, I have learned the hard way that fresh and dried ones do not last outdoors. This wreath is the prettiest faux one I found. It could take you into Christmas as well. I bought this velvet bow for my wreath. Of course I had to link another wreath sash because I think they are the cutest things ever. I've always loved the look a basket planter, but they are usually ridiculously expensive. These are an amazing price!

This long cardigan is so great over a t-shirt or tank with jeans. It's great for when it's cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. Camel looks great with ivory (as shown) and black as well. I wasn't sure how the length would look on me since I'm petite, but I tried it on in the store and loved it. It hit right at the knee on me, and I'm 5'4.
I also bought this faux leather jacket. The reviews say it's buttery soft and thin. I always need light jackets, which are hard to find. When it's cooler it would look great with a turtleneck sweater underneath.
This sweatshirt is on the pricey side, but Lululemon lasts forever. Plus I tried it on in the store and loved the fit.
These satin joggers would look great with a solid black tank and slides. It's great for those days you aren't feeling jeans, but sweats seem too casual.
I'm thoroughly enjoying all things fall with the cooler weather that came through today. I want to hold onto the season a little longer before I bring out the Christmas decor. It's been so warm until today that I would feel that I never got to fully experience fall if I changed it out so early. Plus, I really love the leaves in my kitchen vase!
I shop online almost every week for florals when finishing a client design. I like fresh flowers as much as the next person, but I've found that you need faux florals for those times when you didn't make it to the store or just don't feel like dealing with a floral arrangement. I couldn't help but notice all the pretty fall florals and leaves. Here are my favorites!
It's been a long time since I've incorporated Halloween into my front porch! I found the cutest pumpkin topiaries this year in orange and black that completely influenced this year's front porch. Except for changing the ribbon on last year's semi-DIY magnolia wreaths I didn't have to buy anything else. My goal was to go completely faux this year. Life is too busy to worry about keeping real plants alive!
Aren't these the cutest pumpkins?! They can also be separated so you can have a different look year to year. I put them in planters I already had to give them a bit of height. Then I added orange berry stems in between each pumpkin.
The wreaths are the same semi-DIY magnolia wreaths from last year. I just changed the ribbon from the green one to the plaid. Oh, I did add battery operated lights to them. All of the decor lights up this year. What's the point of decorating if you can't see it?! If your favorite decor, mums or pumpkins aren't lit just drape an inexpensive battery operated strand with a timer around it. That's what I did with the wreaths. I have the exact strand linked below.
You might notice the pumpkin reflection in the window. Our dog, Mario, keeps barking at them. My husband finally pointed out that he probably thinks there are two little kids at the door!
I can't believe it's been so long since I posted last! I've been so busy with work that I haven't even had time to think about my own home. My laptop decided to die on Monday morning so while I was waiting for an appointment to get it fixed I had time to get out my fall decor. It turns out my laptop was beyond repair of course! I only have one box of fall decor and usually just buy fresh florals and pumpkins, but knowing I would not replace dying florals or pumpkins with my schedule I decided to keep it easy and go with mostly faux this year.
This is definitely a more casual look than how I usually decorate, but I wanted something a bit more cozier this year. The pumpkins, vase and leaves are from local boutiques. I was able to find similar to link for you. I think I might switch out this tray for the one from Target I'm linking.
One of your favorite items from my fall home tour wasn't even home decor. It was my black Balmain lookalike blazer! I loved it so much that I bought it in white too. It also comes in a pink, light blue and red. I find that it runs exactly one size small and you will see many reviews say the same. The quality is amazingly good too. At under $60 it's a great find!
I wore the white today to a client meeting. I paired it with a black bodysuit, black jeans, and my favorite flats. I'd rather wear heels, but flats are typically what I wear when working.
The Prada tote bag is also what I usually take with me to client meetings because it can hold so much-files, measuring tape, and fabric samples. The YSL bag in the second photo is what I carry on a daily basis because it can be a shoulder and crossbody bag. No need to switch bags! My Ferragamo pearl belt is no longer available, but the black and gold one is a classic.

Here is the same blazer in black that was so popular in my fall home tour. More details about this look is in the link.
Happy Fall! My fall home tour is a bit late this year, but so is the fall weather! We are getting our first cold front tomorrow, and I cannot wait to have coffee on the porch in the morning to enjoy it. There are so many things on our fall bucket list-local festivals, a haunted corn maze, and s'mores around the fire pit. Pumpkin patches and trick-or-treating are out this year since the boys are getting older, but there is still plenty for us to do as a family!
I am in love with these new fall wreaths! They were a semi-DIY. I already had one dried magnolia wreath from last year. It wasn't my favorite because it was so flat and plain. I decided to add real elements like feathers and dried florals with a hot glue gun hoping it would perk it up. It did! I bought everything I needed from Hobby Lobby including the green and brown ribbon.
I later added the grapevine garland and lights. I'm not sure if I'm going to add any Halloween decor to it. We'll see if the kids ask for it!
On to the foyer, which is my favorite this year! I was inspired by these pretty, lavender mums. I knew they would look great paired with white pumpkins somewhere inside or outside the house.
I'll be honest, I just used what I had already on hand for this year's table. All I added was this Greek key ribbon to tie the napkins. It's a great inexpensive alternative to napkin rings.
It was important to decorate the pool area again this year because Dylan and his girlfriend took homecoming photos out here yesterday.
Can you believe this is the same little boy from when I first started blogging? He was only 10 back then and now he's 17! I would be sad, but he's grown into such a handsome, great kid that I can't be anything but proud.
