My Birthday Weekend!

I have never been a fan of my birthday, but I'm trying hard to celebrate it this year. Someone said aging is a privilege. I'm trying to get on board with that by repeating it over and over in my head. So instead of ignoring my inevitable birthday, I put on a nice outfit and made it special. I can't say the mantra helped, but a great night out did make me feel better. My husband was out of town for my birthday this week so we saved the celebrations for the weekend. We had cake with the kids Friday night at home, spent the day by the pool on Saturday and then went out to dinner that evening.

We went to Guard and Grace in downtown Houston. The gnocchi was amazing! I've never had it before, but will make sure we order it when it's on the menu from now on. The restaurant itself was beautiful. Check out the chandelier in the lobby!

I was excited to have a reason to wear this two-piece outfit I posted about a few weeks ago. I knew it was special the minute I saw it on the website. It's still available, but sold out of many sizes. Hopefully, they restock it since it went so fast.

I already had the bag and shoes (my favorite), but needed a pair of earrings to go with it.

I had my eye on a pair of designer earrings that were a little too pricey for something so trendy, but ended up finding almost the exact pair for less than $14 on Amazon!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! We celebrated at home with a brunch out by the pool with my mom and dad. The weather was perfect, the food great, and jazz played while we sipped Bellinis. It was absolutely wonderful!

Can you believe how big the kids have gotten? I'm just under 5'4, but they make me look tiny. They made me cards and took a photo with me. That's all I wanted so I made it clear about 100 times in advance lol. It still took a village to make it happen!

My dress is actually a swimsuit coverup, but isn't sheer so it can be worn as a dress. I've found the fabric is perfect for hot weather days. It also washes well. I've linked this one and newer items from the same brand below. I'm planning on buying more for our trip this summer!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas 2022

I actually own most of the things I recommend and link. I figure if I love it, you will too! Some of them I am manifesting that I will own lol. These Mother's Day gift ideas are no different. 

I have the YSL handbag in black and it is the perfect size, can be a shoulder bag or crossbody and go from day to night. It still looks brand new years later!

The AirPods and Brooks trainers are an everyday must for me. I only wear these Brooks shoes while working out so I have them in multiple colors. My Apple Watch is something I wear while I workout, but this FitBit is a more affordable option if you don't need all the bells and whistles of an Apple Watch.

I'm sure you recognize this planter from my breakfast table. It was a little pricey, but now that I own it I can say it was worth every penny. 

My husband bought me this Alexandrite and diamond ring from this Etsy seller. It was affordable and he said the jeweler was so easy to work with. It is big and beautiful, too! 

These are my two favorite beach bags. Sadly, I don't really need them. Maybe you do? 

I am planning on buying these sandals, earrings and travel mirror. I can't decide if I should get the sandals in pink or black.
