Inspirational Links for Your Weekend

Oct 4, 2013

I'm getting an early start on the weekend with an unexpected day off. I'll be finishing up the balcony off my master bedroom today. All that's left to do is a bit of planting and spray painting. I can't wait to show you pictures next week. This has become my favorite spot, and Mario's as well. The weather is supposed to be great this weekend with a cold front moving in on Sunday. We may have one last pool day Saturday after our son's baseball game and then celebrate the cooler temps on Sunday by decorating for Halloween. My boys have asked to turn our front yard into a graveyard complete with an iron gate, tombstones, skeletons, and a fog machine. The iron gate request still makes me laugh. I give them credit for creativity, but unless they come up with some serious $ I don't see that happening!

Here are a few things that have inspired me this week and are too great not to share. Have a cup of coffee and enjoy!

Bold black and white horizontal stripes carry through the front entry hall, another of Susan’s creative ideas to add texture and interest. A jute runner on the staircase adds organic flair.

I love this empty nester's townhouse that happens to be in my own hometown. Read more about it here!

Elements of Style blogger, Erin, shares pictures of her parent's Connecticut vacation home. Could you imagine doing dishes here? Me neither!

This image from Design Chic . I promptly pinned this, of course. More of the designer's work, which is absolutely amazing, is featured in this post.

If you live in the Houston area, Marburger Farms at Round Top Antiques Fair is open through Saturday. I doubt I'll find the time to go, but you never know!

And, since it's October a paranormal novel is perfect. This is my favorite series right now. It's good in the beginning, but by the third book you will be obsessed! I am now Facebook friends with the author and it has made my year. Find it here on Amazon.

Have a great weekend!
