My New Favorite Room

Jul 11, 2013

I have a lot of favorite inspiration rooms, but one comes along every now and then that makes you want to change everything in your house and go in a completely different direction. This is one I pinned the other day that did just that.

Carolyne Roehm

It's Carolyn Roehm's summer look, but if it were my house I'd never change it for the season. There are plenty of blue and white rooms I've always been partial to, but this one is just extra special.

I do love my blue and white kitchen, and after seeing this picture I did consider letting the colors flow into my living room.

It would be way too much work since the walls would have to be painted and my hands ache at the thought. Maybe one day when I'm tired of this room I'll paint it white, add a navy and white rug, and throw pillows. Blue and white jars on the mantel with lots of branches would be pretty, too. It's always nice to dream!

  1. I love the look of white wood details in a room...but I do adore the blue walls in your living room..

  2. That is gorgeous. And it is always nice to dream! I could see your room easily transitioning into a look like this with these colors. Lovely! I love those orchids.

  3. That's a beautiful room but yours its very pretty too! I think you can add some navy blue and green accents to your living room to give it the same feeling.

  4. Hi, I am a new reader of your blog and I love it! We just bought a new home, and we are thinking of installing wood tiles in our first floor family room. While we would love to install hardwood flooring, we live in an area of NJ that is highly prone to flooding. Our home is not in a flood zone, but the very thought of it has my husband nervous enough about it. How do you like the floor? Does it "feel" like tile? (if you know what I mean) and can you still achieve a cozy sense with it? ..in your pictures, you can not tell the difference and really would only know it's a different material if you were really studying flooring. I think it looks absolutely beautiful, but I worry that it won't have a warm, cozy feeling. I also LOVE your fireplace and mantle. The same room we need the flooring for also has major re-work in the fireplace area and I am showing your pictures to our contractor! Lovely!!!
