New Living Room Furniture

Apr 15, 2013

On Friday, I hinted that I may be getting a new sofa. Well, it's here! Just to recap, this is the before.

And, here it is now...

I decided on the white Ektorp sofa and two chairs from Ikea. Unfortunately, only one white chair slipcover was in stock, but I'm sure it won't be long before they get more. Thankfully, my husband works a mile down the street from Ikea so he can pick one up on his way home from work when they get one in. It looks a little bare with just one, so hopefully they get one in soon.

Mario is sulking in the corner by the kitchen because he isn't allowed on the couch. I made him a makeshift pet bed out of a wicker basket and he was not impressed. A trip to Petsmart today may be in order today for an acceptable pet bed. I did pick up this vase from World Market over the weekend though.

See what I mean by bare? I can't wait to get the second chair to put next to the other one with a small table in between them.

Of course, there's still quite a bit to do with accessories, but that's the fun part!

  4. It looks great and what a difference it makes in your room, you must be so pleased. I just added two of the ektorp chairs in my family room re-do and we love them. I know they are not good quality pieces, but for the price you can not beat them in my book. I also love the fact that i can wash the slip covers.

  5. Love it, Jennifer! It really freshens and lightens everything up. All your existing accessories tie in so well and I love the new vase on the coffee table too. I've been thinking about getting the white slipcover for my edktorp sofa and I think you may have tipped me over the edge.

  7. Love a white slipcovered look. There's just something so fresh about it! Question about your blinds- I'm looking for something like that. Can you tell me what the brand and name are so I can check them out. Thanks so much Jennifer!

  8. What a world of difference. Even your pillows are perfect on the white sofa - so crisp and clean, and you just can't beat slipcovers for ease in cleaning.!!
