Game Room Update

Apr 19, 2013

I'm sorry this is so late! I had hoped to get the game room put together last night when my husband got home from a work trip, but his flight was delayed by hours due to storms here. We didn't get the tv and sofa back in place until tonight since I ended up working late, but I finally got some pics for you.

If you remember, this was my last progress update.

And now....

The mouldings are painted the same creamy color we used downstairs. The wall color is SW Softened Green. I chose it because it is bright enough to set off the navy, but has enough gray to coordinate well with the SW Mindful Gray I used on the adjoining wall.

We built new mouldings around the doors and windows to match the rest of the house, and switched out the brass door knobs to oil rubbed bronze. I liked the brass well enough, but the ORB goes so much better with the style of my house.

I had to run to Target tonight for a new vacuum belt and noticed this chair while browsing on my way out. It was only $30! I knew it would be perfect for the kids new desk. I also bought some felt pads while I was there for the bottom of the feet so the new laminate wouldn't get scratched.

My son took one look at the new chair and decided to try it out, lol.

New navy shades. Supposedly, it only takes 15 minutes to hang each one. I put these up myself and it took about 45 minutes each. Oh, well. They are up and that's all that counts! I initially bought white ones and planned to put a navy ribbon trim around the edges, but the white was way too bright for the trim. I love these just as well, if not more.

There is still quite a bit to do in here with accessories, but I just love how fresh and clean it feels in here. It's such a dramtic improvement from stained carpet and knicked woodwork. I'm eventually going to add new bins to the console, throw pillows, an ottoman or coffee table, and some artwork and/or frames to the walls. Then, I can call it complete!
