Outdoor Dreaming

Mar 7, 2013

When spring comes around my focus shifts from the interior of our home to the exterior, specifically the backyard. We're still undecided on building a pool, but regardless of our decision there will be some sprucing up going on outside soon. These are some of my favorite photos of not-so-ordinary backyards.

I don't know where this is, but it reminds me so much of the homes and landscapes in northern Louisiana where I grew up.

I also lived on a lake when I was younger and those were some of the best memories. I felt as if I were on vacation all of the time.

The perfect spot to sit and supervise kids in the pool.

Can you imagine the parties?!

If this were mine I'd feel the need to wear a big hat, drink tea, and read an English novel.

I want all of these! I'll be the first to admit that landscapes are not my forte and it's not for a lack of trying. I've decided that whatever we do will be left up to the professionals. I'll just pick out the patio furniture, lol!

  1. Ohh! I want all of them too! So beautiful. I love the outdoors. I wish WA state's weather would cooperate with my need to have more warm sunny weather to enjoy these outdoor spaces more. :)

    1. I could see the one with the fireplace on the balcony in WA. I would be out there drinking wine every night in front of a fire!

  2. Oh that lake house is AWESOME!!! Actually I'm a a little afraid of lakes because of an irrational fear of snapping turtles, but I;d still live there :)
