I'm so excited to report that I'm finally getting my desk delivered today! It could not have come soon enough because the study is quickly becoming a disaster area from the lack of organization. Between the mail and school papers from my three kids it really looks like a paper bomb went off. The only benefit of living with the office before we bought furniture is that we get to see what we really need to organize it.
There are a couple of things I didn't expect on how we use this space (along with my husband using it as a place to store golf clubs). I've noticed if I put important paperwork in a file folder I will completely forget about it. A corkboard would be ideal, but I'm not sure if I want all of my important papers on display and there are too many of them to pin up. Hmmm.... Even though we have a nice area in the laundry room for the kids to hang their backpacks up they still love to throw them in the office after they walk in the front door. I can't blame them because I do tend to throw my purse, phone, earbuds, etc. in there, too.
I revealed my office plan in another post, but I can now make the final decisions once I see the desk set up. I can't help but go through some of the inspiration pictures again I've been pinning for months. Here's a few.
Love the corkboard
Does anyone really use this office? Oh, well. It sure is pretty.
This is my desk in white. I love it, but I didn't think my husband would like working from a white lacquer desk.
This is a small space, but big on organization.
The shelf above the window is nice for extra storage.
Pure eye candy
Surprisingly, I think the lighting above the bookcase makes this room.
Another reason to love yellow and gray.
