Fall Tablescape

Sep 17, 2012

This was such an easy fall tablescape.  I combined my Mikasa white platinum china and Blue Willow together for a unique combination.  To add some fall color I added a rust tablecloth, gold napkins, and sheer gold leaf runner that I found at Homegoods.  The pumpkin candles are originally from Pottery Barn, but were found at Goodwill last year.  I've had the floral arrangement and hurricanes for a while.  I just added cinnamon scented pinecones to the hurricanes for a fall feel.  I bought them several years ago at Michael's and they still smell great.

How to get this look:

-Don't be afraid to mix and match your china.  You can combine colors or patterns so your table is uniquely yours.

-Layer your linens.  I added a runner on top of the tablecloth for exta dimension.  Then I added gold napkins to pick up the gold runner and florals.

-Think outside the box in regards to fall colors.  I added a cobalt blue with the Blue Willow china.  Teal, leafy green, and even fuschia would be great fall colors.  Of course, light blues and greens can also be great colors, especially when combined with a chocolate brown.

-Don't forget the candles.  I think everything and everyone looks better in candlelight.

-Scale.  I used a tall floral arrangement for the center of the table and then two smaller candleholders on either side.  When I decorate my dining table I usually always decorate in threes.

I'm so excited to be linked up to The Lettered Cottage's fall tablescape party!  Check it out for more great ideas.
